A Two-Sided Partnership

The steel comes from Aurora. The strategy comes from CBS.

Shelving is rarely a furniture purchase — it's an infrastructure decision. The wrong specification wastes square footage for a decade; the wrong installation creates safety and compliance headaches. We pair Aurora's manufacturing depth with the records-management expertise we've spent thirty-five years building.

Three Core Solutions

Built for what you store, sized for the room you have.

Most institutions don't need every shelving product Aurora makes. They need the right one, specified correctly, installed once. We focus on three solutions that solve the storage problems we see most often.

01
Archive Shelving

Built for boxes, books, and the records that have to last.

Static, modular, document-safe. Aurora Quik-Lok™ 4-post shelving is the workhorse of archive rooms — assembles with minimal tools, scales as your retention grows, and uses a powder-coat finish with no VOCs that could damage paper records over time.

  • K-12 district central records

  • L & T shelving for records boxes
  • Open-shelf filing with end-tab integration

02
Library Shelving

Cantilever systems engineered for circulation & longevity.

Aurora's MJ Library Shelving has been the standard for academic, public, and special-collection libraries for decades. Modular, ADA-aware, and compatible with end panels, signage, and display accessories. Wood-Tek™ pairs steel structure with real wood end panels where aesthetics matter as much as load capacity.

  • Public library branches
  • Corporate & law libraries

03
High-Density Mobile Shelving

Twice the capacity. Same floor. One moving aisle.

The single best ROI in physical records storage. Aurora Mobile compresses fixed aisles into one moving aisle, doubling effective capacity in the same square footage. Mechanical-assist for moderate use, electric-powered for high-traffic environments — both ride on a recessed or low-profile rail system we engineer to your floor.

Best For

  • Corporate & legal active archives
  • Hospital & clinical records
  • University library stacks
  • Government & museum collections

Drive Systems

  • Electric-powered, touch-control
  • Side-to-side & end-store layouts
  • Recessed & surface-mount rails
Where We Focus

Two audiences. Different problems. Same engineering rigor.

We serve a range of institutions, but two sectors drive most of our work — and they shape how we specify, plan, and install. Each has its own constraints: load, ADA, compliance, aesthetics, and the politics of getting a budget approved.

How We Work

A four-step engagement, not a quote-and-pray.

Shelving projects fail when someone sells you steel before they understand the room or the records. We invert that order.

01
Week 1

Assess

On-site visit. We measure the room, photograph existing storage, and inventory what's actually on the shelves today.

02
Week 2–3

Design

We model two or three layout options in CAD, with capacity gain, dollar cost, and lead time for each. You see the trade-offs.

03
Week 4–10

Install

Aurora manufactures. Our local team handles rail installation, assembly, and the records move itself if you need it.

04
Ongoing

Service

Annual rail inspection, drive-system maintenance, and we're here when you need to expand. Same St. Louis number for thirty-five years.

One Records Ecosystem

The shelves are the start, not the solution.

Most of our clients eventually digitize. The records that move off the shelf don't disappear — they shift formats. Engineered Shelving is one part of the Conner Business Systems family, designed to hand off cleanly to the digital sides of our practice as your records lifecycle evolves.

"Some records belong on a shelf for thirty years. Some belong in a database the moment they're created. Most belong in both — at different points in their life. We built our family of brands so you don't have to call three vendors to figure out which is which."
